Trackops has partnered with IRBSearch, a leading data search provider, to offer integrated search capabilities from within Trackops. By using the IRBSearch provider, you'll be able to quickly run live searches from your existing IRBSearch account and export them directly to Trackops.
Note: IRBSearch only supports organizations that operate in the United States. Companies that do not have an office in the United States cannot obtain an IRBSearch account.
Step 1: Obtain your IRBSearch Account Number
If you don't already have an IRBSearch account, you can apply for an account at IRBSearch.com.
If you're already an IRBSearch customer, you have an account number. To locate your account number, login to your IRBSearch portal as an administrator. From here, click My Account > Account Administration > View Signed Documents. Next, open your account application document and locate the Certification of Use section. Finally, locate your Account Number within the business information section.
Note: Your account number was also emailed to you when you first signed up for your IRBSearch account.
Step 2: Enable the Trackops Data Provider
To activate your IRBSearch API connection, click Settings and then Addons & Integrations. From here, click IRB Search. Fill out the form to continue.
- Enabled - Determine if the IRBSearch search integration should be enabled or disabled. By enabling the feature, the search will become immediately available. Enabling this feature will add a Searches tab to your cases.
- Account Number - The IRBSearch account number obtained in step 1.
At this point you should also verify your user roles are configured to access data search providers.
Step 4: Access IRBSearch via Trackops
Now that your account is configured and the IRBSearch integration is enabled, you're ready to start running searches inside of Trackops. To get started, navigate to a case inside of your system and click the Searches tab. If you do not see the Searches tab on your case, no data search providers are currently enabled.
From here, click New Data Search, select the appropriate search type and click Continue. If your account is online and active you will be immediately authenticated into the IRBSearch platform and can begin running searches using the same interface you are used to.
Note: If you are unable to authenticate to IRBSearch via Trackops, see the Troubleshooting section below for assistance.
Step 5: Exporting Searches to Trackops
Creating Interactive Data Searches via IRBSearch
When viewing select searches inside IRBSearch you will see an integration icon, as indicated in the below image. Clicking the image will export this search directly into a Trackops Data Search, which can be used to interactively populate subject data on a case.
IRBSearch currently supports saving interactive search data on the following search types:
- Advanced Person Search Plus
- Motor Vehicle Search
All other non-listed search types currently do not have the capability to create interactive data searches in Trackops, however they can still be exported to the case via PDF (see below).
Exporting Search Results to a PDF via IRBSearch
Trackops offers the capability to save IRBSearch results directly to a PDF in the Files tab on your case using the IRBSearch export function. To do this, navigate to any search result in the IRBSearch platform. From here, click the Export button on the left hand menu.
From here, select PDF as the export format to continue.
From here, you can download a copy of the PDF directly to your device at this point by clicking on the filename. You can also save the PDF directly to the Files tab on your case by choosing an access group and optionally a folder to save your search in. Click Save to Case to save the PDF file directly to your case.
Troubleshooting
- I have an IRBSearch Account but I cannot login via the portal. IRBSearch accounts in Trackops are synced by email address. Verify the email address in Trackops matches the email address on file in your IRBSearch account.
