AI Summary presets provide a way to create pre-defined objectives for generating AI file summaries and AI case update summaries. Using summary presets will allow you to prepare well-crafted and reusable objectives, which ensures staff members get consistent results when generating summaries on similar files or updates.

Creating a File Summary Preset
To create a new file summary preset, click Settings and then click AI Summary Presets. From here, click New AI Summary Preset.
- Name - Choose a name that is easy to identify in a list. Presets are listed in alphabetical order, so a good strategy is to organize them based on the topic of the file, and the (i.e. Investigative Report (Surveillance): Summarize Activities)
- Type - The type of record this preset should be used for (i.e. Documents, Videos, Case Updates).
- Topic - The classification or description of the content to be summarized (i.e. Surveillance Report, Police Report, Medical Chart, Surveillance Update, etc...)
- Objective - Describe in detail what you want information you want to summarize, and how you want AI to format the results. AI is good at understanding Markdown Syntax, so if your summary objective is longer, try formatting it for better results.
Once you have filled the required fields, click Save Summary Preset.
Using a File Summary Preset
To use a summary preset, navigate to an eligible file (based on the File Type), and Generate an AI File Summary. You will now have the option to choose a Preset while describing the File Topic and Objective fields. Selecting the preset will automatically populate these fields with the information from the preset.
Using a Case Update Summary Preset
To use a case update summary preset, navigate to a case Generate an AI Case Update Summary. After choosing your updates and other criteria, locate the Additional Instructions block. When presets exist, you'll be able to choose from the preset list and populate the instructions from the pre-defined list.
