If you're working multiple cases that are related to each other, Trackops offers the ability to link these cases together. By linking related cases, you'll always be able see the relationship under the Related Cases section of a case and and quickly click through to the related case(s).
In addition, related cases will be visible to limited access staff who have the permission to View Related Cases. This can be useful if two active cases are being worked side by side, yet a limited access investigator is only assigned to one of them.
Linking a Related Case
To link a related case, navigate to a case and scroll down to the Related Cases section. From here, click Link Related Case. Next, click Choose Case and select the case you want to link. From here, click Link Related Case.
That's it, now both cases will show each other as a related case.
Unlinking a Related Case
To unlink a related case, navigate to a case and scroll down to the Related Cases section. From here, click the X next to the related case you wish to unlink. Confirm the choice and the case will become unlinked.
Note: You cannot unlink re-opened related cases from one another (i.e. cases with the same series number that end in -01, -02, etc...).
