Assigning Additional Staff and Contacts to Cases

Using Trackops, you can easily control who is assigned and has access to each of your cases.  These assignments are visible through the Assigned tab on a case.  When someone is assigned to a case, they are put into one of the following groups:

  • Case Manager
  • Investigator
  • Salesperson
  • Additional Employee
  • Client Contact
  • Affiliate Contact - (Read how to create affiliates)

To assign someone to a case, click the Assigned tab, and then click the Assign New link on the far right.  


From here, all you need to do is choose the group, the person, and optionally mark them as primary.  For example, if you had two investigators on one case, one would be marked as primary (indicating the lead investigator), while the other would be classified as an additional investigator.

Note: You must have the permission to "Assign/Unasign Users to Cases" to perform this operation.

Additionally, you can opt to send the person an assignment notification, letting them know they've been granted access to the case.  From the assigned tab, you will be able to see if the person has access to login to your system, and when the last time they viewed this case.
